Excursion Boton thbMallorca is becoming a preferred destination for those who enjoy outdoor activities. With its almost 250 days of fantastic weather, Mallorca has many many activities to offer. From guided city tours, to solo walking.

.

Walking has become very popular with winter visitors. Nevertheles, this activity can be enjoyed all year around. It is a great way to see the island’s beauty. Many of the loveliest and lesser known areas are only accesible by foot.

For those who wish to encounter this aspect of the island theyr can do it on their own or with a guide. If you wish to be accompanied by certified mountain guides we recommend WWW.UNICS.ES which one if not the best known events company on the island. With experienced and certified guides.

Some of our favourite outdoor plans are:

Sunset in a Catamaran in Palma Bay: This is a great way of enjoying Mallorca in the summer. No power engine, relaxed and quite ambiance. Perfect, beautiful sunsets with Palma’s catedral on our backs.

Palma’s Historic Old Town: There are a few guided tours here. One of the famous Patios, another one of famous monuments, another of all the churches in the Old Town with its historic significance… The catedral, the Almudaina Palace, the Old TUrkish Baths, the Jewish Quaters… Palma has a lot more to offer than trendy cafes, exclusive shopping and selected dining.

Bellver Castle: This is one of the few gothic circular castle in the whole world. It is one of the most visited attractions in Palma. Only 3 km form the city centre and 112 mts above sea level. Old tails tell the Bellver Castle is connected to teh Almudaina Palace and that these secret passges were built in the the 14th century… But there is no prove… it is fairly easy to Access, either by car or on the City Tour Bus, or by bus… For more information you can always caontact the tourist offices in Palma. This estate is dedicated to agricultural production. It is very easy to access, only 15 km from Palma. You can get there by car or bus. Form it there are a couple of very nice easy walking trails which lead you straight to the sea. http://www.lagranja.net/

Our Favourite Walking trails:

Soller-Deia: Starting in Soller we head out of town passing numerous orange and lemon orchards and onto the Camí de Castelló. This path was once the old road that connected Deia with Soller and was a vital trade route between the two. After slowly falling into decline during the 20th century, the path was restored in recent years thanks to the efforts of the island's stone masonry school. The old cobbled path winds its way up through the estates of Son Mico and onto Can Prohom. We stop at the latter for a freshly squeezed orange juice and to admire the fabulous views of the valley below.

The trail then continues through a forest of oaks and pines from where we begin to glimpse the dramatic coastline and the beautiful village of Llucalcari below us.

The path subsequently winds along the coast, finally descending to the cove of Cala Deia.

2) Castell de Alaro: This is great fun walk for all the family. It is a linear route, you can’t get lost! As long as you start from the parking lot of the restaurant. Eventhough it can get a bit steep in some places, with patience the Ruins of the Alaro Castle can be reached. Sunday is teh day for the local families to do this walk and have lunch at “Es Verger” restaurant. A very rustic, local palce where reservations do not exist. It is worth waiting.

Camino del General: This is another of our favourites. It is perfect for those who like to walk, enjoy otdoors but do not want to hike. It starts on the way to Banyalbufar, you will always see cars parked. The route is pretty easy to find and follow. It goes all the way, following the coast under pine tres to Port D’es Canonge, where you ca have a Little swim and then start the way back. There are restaurants in Port D’es Canonge so if you wish you can start in the morning, have lunch the a Little swim and head back to finish with a drink in Banyalbufar watching the sunset.
